Edward M. Kennedy Institute Expands Public Visitor Access Hours Beginning June 23
New exhibit featuring American history memorabilia from the collection of Senator Edward M. Kennedy will also open
June 1, 2026 (Boston, MA) – The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate (EMKI) announced today that the organization will be expanding their access hours for public visitor access. The organization was previously available to visitors by appointment and to student groups participating in EMKI’s civic education program, which has welcomed more than 170,000 young people and over 14,000 educators from 45 states since the Kennedy Institute’s founding in 2015.
The organization will prepare to welcome visitors Tuesdays through Sundays beginning June 23 to experience exhibits including the world’s only full-scale replica of the Senate Chambers and Senator Kennedy’s Washington D.C. office. A new exhibit featuring items from the personal collection of the senator will highlight key tenets of American history.
Founded by the late Senator Edward M. Kennedy, who earned the nickname “Lion of the Senate” through his nearly five-decade career in the U.S. Senate, the EMKI’s mission is to educate the public about the unique role of the Senate in our government, while actively inspiring all Americans to keep our democracy and civic life vibrant.
