“I must say the EMK Institute is and has been one of my most favorite institutions not only because its purpose is so
important, most especially today, but because it is accomplishing its mission in such creative and constructive ways for
students – of ALL ages – to participate, to learn and to effect change.”

This experience brought our Civics materials to life and helped students understand the obstacles faced in passing
legislation. Students took their roles seriously and learned about the complexities of our government. A textbook cannot
foster this kind of engagement or understanding.
