SPECIAL EVENTS

In commemoration of the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, join the Kennedy Institute to explore how Senator Edward M. Kennedy and his staff played a unique role in the Commonwealth’s response in the weeks and years that followed.
Join former members of Senator Kennedy’s staff, who worked closely to coordinate his office’s efforts, alongside Massachusetts family members who lost a loved one in the attacks. These firsthand accounts shine a light on how the Senator’s efforts supported families, mobilized assistance, and helped navigate unprecedented challenges. The response served as a model that continues to inform public service and disaster response today.
Moderated by Charlie Rose, Senior Vice President and Dean of City Year, the panel includes Steve Kerrigan, President and CEO of the Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center and former Political Director for Senator Kennedy; Tom Crohan, Vice President and Counsel, US Law and Government Relations at John Hancock and former Aide in Senator Kennedy’s office; Cindy McGinty, Board Director of 9/11 Day; and Christie Coombs, President and Founder, The Jeff Coombs Memorial Foundation.
