Statement of Edward M. Kennedy Institute for
The United States Senate on the Assassination of Charlie Kirk

September 11, 2025 (Boston, Mass.) – The ideals of civil debate and the non-violent exchange of ideas are — or should be — central to our nation’s political system. Yet once again, we confront another seeming act of horrific political violence. Charlie Kirk’s murder — occurring while he spoke at an institution dedicated to learning, no less — is incredibly sad, deeply troubling and we are a lesser nation today for this latest bloodshed.
