PRESS RELEASE
Statement on the Presidential Election from Edward M. Kennedy Institute Board Chair Bruce A. Percelay and CEO Adam Hinds
November 8, 2024 (Boston, Mass.) – The Edward M. Kennedy Institute congratulates President elect Donald Trump for his victory, and salutes Vice President Kamala Karris for her hard fought and honorable campaign.
It was clear from the election results that we remain a divided nation, however, the peaceful transfer of power and freedom to express different points of view survive and demonstrate the enduring strength of our democratic system. The voters have spoken and this is what differentiates our system from those that do not recognize the value of individual voices.
The EMK Institute remains resolute in our dedication to bipartisanship, and the search for common ground, and we look forward to continuing this effort during the upcoming Trump administration.
Ted Kennedy always said that “what divides us pales in comparison to what unites us ” and we must not forget his important words.
